It's an honor to present this episode featuring veteran artist Key Nyata, alternatively known Chase Flame or the "Shadowed Diamond". This is the definition on an underground legend; representing the area of Seattle, WA, key has been a force in the music industry for over a decade, having released several critically acclaimed singles, projects, videos, and of course his record for rocking crowds while touring across the country. You may also remember Key as being one of the founding members of the supergroup Raider Klan (RVIDXR KLVN) which was an American hip hop collective formed in Carol City, Miami, Florida in 2008. It grew to include members from other U.S. cities such as Memphis, Seattle and Houston. They are widely regarded by fans, critics and fellow artists as one of the most influential hip-hop movements of the 2010s and the Guardian cited them as one of the key acts bringing back hip hop groups. During this time, Key Nyata released numerous classic projects such as "Two Phonkey", "The Shadowed Diamond", "No Way" and "The Phonkilation" among others. Collaborators have included the likes of Vince Staples, Denzel Curry, Lil Tracy, Chris Travis, Xavier Wulf and more. At its peak the collective enjoyed a period of rapid growth, emerging alongside groups such as Odd Future and ASAP Mob. Raider Klan originally included rappers SpaceGhostPurrp, Dough Dough Da Don, Kadafi, Muney Junior and Jitt before expanding to include Denzel Curry, Chris Travis, Eddy Baker, Xavier Wulf, Ruben Slikk, Lofty305 and dozens more. Many former members went on to pursue successful solo careers or form new groups. Today we discuss artistic mindsets & the underground scene.
